Duties: TA duties will include: preparing and leading weekly tutorials, helping students install, setup and use required software for the course; answering students' question related to the course assignments, quizzes, tests and projects; holding regular office hours for student consultation; meeting weekly or as needed with the course instructor to address issues relevant to the course; helping design and create assignments, quizzes, tests, and projects; helping create marking schemes for quizzes and tests; helping with the grading of projects. Requirements: Past TA duties must include tutoring or must have demonstrated public speaking ability. Strong familiarity and competency in object oriented programming with Java, and some familiarity with programming in C. Familiarity and competency with: developing software in an integrated development environment (Eclipse) with support for source control (Git), code documentation (Javadoc), and testing (JUnit) software.

Duties: Developer: This course is under development. Demonstrator: This course is lab-intensive and definitely hands on. It is also a first year course. Demonstrators are needed to introduce the students to the kit and the various hardware and software tools they will be using. Requirements: Requires public speaking ability. ECSE211 is a course in design offered to first year students. Laboratory demonstrators will assist students performing experiments with the Mindstorms NXT robotics kits, evaluating performance and grading lab reports. Preference will be given to applicants having experience with hardware (microprocessors, digital electronics) and software (C/C++, assembler), and to applicants who have previously been a TA for ECSE 211.

Duties: Delivering weekly tutorials on different topics related to the course, helping students with the course projects, holding weekly office hours. Requirements: Requires public speaking ability. Good communication skills. Preference will be given to students that have taken: (i) COMP 202, ECSE 202, or COMP 208 or equivalent, and (ii) ideally ECSE 223, ECSE 321, or equivalent. Must have modeling experience with class diagrams and state machines, ideally with Umple. Must know object oriented programming, preferably in JAVA. Extensive programming and/or software engineering experience including testing with JUnit and code generation is a plus. Familiarity with Java Swing/SWT, UML, Eclipse, distributed version control (Git), continuous integration/testing, defect and issue tracking tools, model-based programming (Umple).

Duties: Reviewing problems similar to assignment and exam problems with students. Brief exposition and review of relevant course material. Helping invigilate the midterm. Requirements: Requires public speaking ability. Research involving probability in communications, control, image processing, etc, is the most likely background for the tutor for ECSE 305. Tutorial experience very useful; clear presentation skills crucial; ability to work cooperatively with instructor concerning content, timing, etc, of tutorials essential. Requirements: Requires public speaking ability. Must be familiar with Linear Systems and Control. In particular, Laplace transforms, feedback control systems, Routh Hurwitz criteria, state space realization, step response of second order systems, root locus, Nyquist plots, Bode plots, Lead-Lag controller, state feedback, output feedback, and certainty equivalence.

ECSE 307Linear Systems and Control Mahajan, Aditya Demoing 1 at 87 hrs
Duties: Conduct weekly labs. Refine existing lab assignments (which are MATLAB LiveView scripts), help the students with the labs, and grade the lab assignments. Requirements: Requires public speaking ability. The labs are a combination of software labs (using Matlab) and hardware labs (using Matlab to control a Quansor DC motor). Must be familiar with working with control hardware, basics of DC motor, and Matlab. Must also be familiar with the lab material: system identification using step response, system identification using Bode plots, PID controllers, Lead-Lag Controllers, Nyquist plot, state feedback controller, output feedback controller.
